Finally I get to see them! Samiam, one of my all time heroes are coming to town. They are part of the Poison City Weekender in September here in Melbourne. My ticket should be in the mail tomorrow…

16 days ago already. Everything’s fine. I’m just pretty busy and still without a normal broadband connection. So hang on…
My visit to Hong Kong is nearly over. The city where hip people wear Birkenstock, McDonald’s offers a delivery service and there’s a sign for literally everything. You can walk nearly as much in the air-conditioned underground as on street. It’s an exciting city that you can’t get to know in 3 days at all (but I did not expect that…). I took some walks through Kowloon (esp. around Nathan Road) and the Central District, took the tram to the Peak and a tour of Victoria Harbour. You can see my photos in my Hong Kong Set on Flickr (more photos arriving over the next days).
I just arrived in Hong Kong and wanted to share some quick impressions. I’m excited! At first sight, it seems to be an impressive city. Everyone is kind. Everything seems to grow upwards. There are towers with smaller towers in between. My hotel is great, my room is on the 17th floor – which means, that I can see towers when I look up and towers, when I look down. Some photos are on my Twitter/Twitpic-Timeline. Here are some more impressions (just taken with the iPhone…).
(ja, soviel dann auch zu “ich poste hier jetzt nur noch in englisch”…)
I just packed my bags for Australia. And – maybe even more important – picked the songs for my iPod for the flight. This band is pretty on top of the playlist: The Gaslight Anthem. Unfortunately I did not get to see them live yet.

A really good punk-rock band from Flensburg, Germany. Great voice, loud and rough. I like this pointing-finger lyrics, especially in this song. They play in Göttingen tonight and this is going to be the last concert in Germany for me…
It’s 7 days left. Only 7 days. I awaited this for a very long time – but now the days are rushing past. It’s 7 days until i leave Germany for at least 13 months to study in Melbourne at Monash University. Finally making my master degree there. I arranged this with Prof. Keedy, who used to teach at TU Darmstadt and now comes back once a year to advertise studies in Australia. You can read my report in German on his website.
Everything is ready for takeoff. I already quit my job, left Frankfurt and moved back to my parents. Back to good old Bad Karlshafen, to store away all the things that don’t fit in my 20kg-luggage to Australia. More updates soon – i have to finish this post until midnight or the countdown screws up…
This blog was unused for just about one year now. I did not have enough time and motivation to write long or interesting articles. So i switched to a more Twitter-style theme (and Wordpress under the hood) and will rather post more short “updates” than long articles. And i switched to English. I know this may all read a bit freaky to a native speaker – but i promise to improve my skills!
What to expect from this blog now? Personal notes, music, trash. Flavored with IT- and Geek-Stuff: Ruby on Rails, PHP, and maybe a pinch of RedDot. Enjoy your meal!
